Hacking HR to Build an Adaptability Advantage

Success - Adaptability Enemy Number 1

One of the most deeply embedded notions in organizations is the belief that success means everything is going well and that there's no need for any modifications or tweaks. More than one Gen Y manager has heard the taunting, 'If it ain't broke, why fix it'.

Adaptability is about being able to change all the time, to survive. Pretty much like flora and fauna have adapted to flourish. When there's no threat on the horizon, and you've just had your best quarter in a while, adapting to remain relevant in the next quarter is the last thing on anyone's agenda.
