Hack the MIX Hackathon

Open the Platform

By Ben Biddle on February 20, 2022

Make it easier to link to, integrate, embed, and consolidate generally all manner of relevant resources from across the web using MIX as the "connector." How could we tap the knowledge store and subject matter experts on Quora? What about LinkedIn? Could MIX not only pull knowledge from that platform but push recognition back out to it for members and contributors? What about tools for member to embed hacks in their blogs?

Hi Ben, thanks for your very helpful contribution--curious to get any thought you might have on a way we could start to make progress on this front (e.g., enable people to log in to the MIX with their linked in account, so that people can start sharing MIX content on the linkedin platform more easily)

thanks

Michele

It's all done through APIs, and I know not long ago, LinkedIn made changes to theirs. You want to find out what, if any, API these sites have exposed, and you'll need to hire a developer to do the integration. Since I'm not a developer myself, that's about as far as my knowledge goes. Not sure what the time, cost or technical limitations would actually be for something like this (or if LinkedIn has closed off its platform as it angles for the social enterprise market, potentially competing with Saba). I would think some of the "mavericks" using MIX as a promotional tool might have relationships with Reid or someone else at LinkedIn to get a meeting and at least explore the possibilities.
