People-Centered local economies, love and compassion

By Jeff Mowatt on March 26, 2022

The psychologist Carl R Rogers, in his person centered counselling, advocated that given access to resources, the individual might resolve their own problems, flourish and grow.  People-centered economics suggests that the same approach can be applied to business and economics.

It was Rogers and other humanists who would influence the reasoning for placing love and compassion at the heart of business in the proposal that people-centered economics could displace the traditional profit maximising perspective of capitalism with business which made people its primary focus.

In the earlier MiX exercise , I illustrated how this was deployed in 'Every Child Deserves a Loving Family'.
